Business Model vs Business Plan

A model deals with the basics of how and why a business should succeed and, at the very least, needs to answer these questions.

• What is the value created in the offer, what differentiates the business and who is the customer?
• How does the business cost, produce,  market and deliver products or services to this customer?
• How does the business capture the rewards from selling to this customer?

A plan details goals, anticipated development, financial projections, marketing requirements and other factors making the business credible.

A model must be dynamic and responsive to changes in the marketplace as a model is essentially about the essence of a business.

In reality models & plans should be in tandem.
